Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef or venison
  • 1/2 cup bell pepper, diced may use green, red, or yellow
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 2/3 cup ketchup
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • red pepper flakes to taste
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Tabasco Sauce to taste

Instructions

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, crumble and brown the beef. Drain and set aside.
  • To the pan add the peppers and onion. Saute until tender.
  • Add the garlic to the peppers and onion. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Stir the tomato paste into the pan and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  • Return the beef to the pan along with all the remaining ingredients. Stir well and reduce the heat to medium-low.
  • Simmer for 10-15 minutes until bubbly.
  • Serve over toasted buns.
