Ingredients
4cupsall-purpose flour
1/4cupsugar
1tablespoonyeast
1 1/2teaspoonssalt
3/4cupwater
2/3cupmilk
4tablespoonsbutter
1 1/2teaspoonlemon juice
Instructions
Heat the oven to 180 degrees.
In the bowl of a stand mixer, whisk together the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
Heat the water, milk, and butter until the butter is almost melted. Add the lemon juice and stir.
Using the dough hook, add the milk mixture to the dry ingredients and mix on medium speed adding additional flour if needed, a tablespoon at a time. Knead for 3-4 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Cover the mixing bowl with plastic wrap and let sit for 10 minutes.
Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. Press into a rectangle shape about 1/2 inch thick. With a pizza cutter or knife, cut into equal-sized pieces. Form each square into a ball and place it into a buttered 9x13 pan. Wet your fingertips and rub over the top of the rolls to prevent drying while they are rising.
Place pan into the oven and turn off the heat. Let rise for 20 minutes. Remove from the oven.
Heat the oven to 375 degrees. Bake rolls for 15-17 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
These rolls can be made without a stand mixer but the time it takes will be a little longer.
