This past weekend I took a much needed break from canning. I hadn’t seen my counter tops or kitchen floor for weeks!
This was the kitchen this morning….(ignore the buckets in the floor).
The first thing I did was shell, wash, and can shelly beans. I’m not sure that’s the correct name for them but it’s what we call them in the south. It’s the beans taken from green beans that have gotten too large. I was able to get 7 pints.
Next, I moved on to making vegetable soup. I had a lot of “odds and ends” from the produce we have been receiving.
Everything is in the pan ready to be heated. There were a few things added that didn’t make it to the photo shoot above.
This will be so good this winter!
Finally, I started a green tomato and pepper chow chow. It all had to be chopped and needs to sit overnight before I can finish it.
What does my kitchen look like now?
hmmm……
