My love of all things spicy is not a secret, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that one of my favorite adult beverages is a Spicy Bloody Mary. These are perfect for a brunch, family gathering, or holiday.
These can be made ahead of time and kept in the refrigerator until time to serve. This recipe also is easily doubled, tripled, etc.
INGREDIENTS
16 oz Spicy Hot V8 Juice
4 oz vodka
Juice of half lime
1 tablespoon horseradish
1 teaspoon olive juice
1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
Sriracha Sauce, to taste (Tabasco sauce may be substituted)
salt and pepper, to taste (I use a chili-lime salt)
Mix all ingredients in a pitcher and refrigerate. To serve, place coarse sea salt on a small plate. Add any seasonings you prefer such as chili powder, smoky paprika, etc. Rub the rim of the glass with a wedge of lime and dip the rim in the salt. Fill the glass with ice and pour the goodness over the ice. Serve with any or all of the following toppers:
Olives
Celery
Spicy pickles
Shrimp
Cocktail onions
Pickled Okra
If you are looking to impress your guests, set up a Bloody Mary bar and allow the guests to prepare their own drink. It will definitely create a memorable event.
This recipe can be easily adjusted to your own taste. Play around with it until you find the perfect Bloody Mary for you!
