There are SO many recipes for coleslaw, each delicious in their own way, but this recipe is a “go to” recipe for me. It’s easy to prepare and contains ingredients you probably have in your pantry.
I’m all for easy cleanup and this ticks that box as well. Mix everything together in a large bowl, cover, and store in the refrigerator until ready to eat.
Short on time? Use packaged, store-bought slaw mix and save the time you would spend grating or chopping the cabbage. Different types are available. You can purchase chopped or shredded, with or without carrots, with or without red cabbage, or just green cabbage which is my favorite for this slaw.
This slaw is a southern staple food for large gatherings, sandwiches, bbq, hamburgers, even fried chicken.
INGREDIENTS
2 16 oz packages cabbage slaw mix
1 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sugar
4 teaspoons white vinegar
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon salt
Place all ingredients together in a large bowl and thoroughly combine. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
This is easily prepared the day before saving even more time before guests arrive.
