Every region of the country has its own style of bbq sauce. In Georgia it’s a ketchup base, in North Carolina it’s vinegar, in Kansas City it’s mustard …in Alabama it’s mayonnaise base. I have avoided it all my life because it just didn’t sound right HA! But, today I decided to be brave and try something new.
INGREDIENTS
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 tablespoon granulated garlic
1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
1 teaspoon dry mustard powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon turmeric (optional, but it’s very healthy and I put it everywhere I can)
1/4 teaspoon salt
Whisk all ingredients together in a medium bowl. Pour into a jar and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
This reminds me of a ranch dressing with a twist. It is very lemony, so if you aren’t a huge lemon fan, just cut back on the amount. It’s great as a marinade or as a dipping sauce for veggies.
I would really like to have your favorite bbq sauce recipes. Please share!
