I mentioned earlier that we had a medical emergency with our baby daughter. She has since been diagnosed with Graves Disease and we are currently working with a traditional doctor to get her on meds to stabilize her, but we also want to look into natural medicine as an alternative.
This journey has been overwhelming! Everyone has their own opinion as to what should or should not be done, but one thing they all agree on is our diets need to be changed for optimal health. We were far ahead of the game on this one (or so I thought) because we do not buy or consume a lot of processed foods. We raise or hunt our own meats, grow our vegetables, purchase real foods at the store, but there are still some processed foods that we always reach for….chocolate, condiments, sugar, rice, chocolate, pasta, did I mention chocolate? Yes, she has a MAJOR sweet tooth!
Thus, this recipe. We will be eating a lot of salads for a while and R’s favorite salad dressing is a raspberry vinaigrette. We always grabbed a bottle at the store, but it contains ingredients that she cannot have now. Don’t you love the internet and Pinterest? I have no idea who to credit for this recipe because they were all very similar. If it’s yours, please let me know.
INGREDIENTS
3/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup raw, organic, apple cider vinegar (I use Bragg’s)
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup organic raspberries
2 tablespoons raw honey
1/2 teaspoon dried basil or thyme
salt to taste
Place all ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
Look at that color! We had salad with grilled chicken and this was perfect with it.
