WALK-IN PANTRY

September 2, 2016 by Debbie Leave a Comment

So, this happened this week! I am deliriously happy!

We took our son’s bedroom and converted it into a walk-in pantry. It was right off the kitchen which was the perfect location. This is just one of the 3 walls that will have shelves on it. Each shelf holds jars 4 deep, so I should have plenty of room for all the canning I’ve done this year. I think I’m going to paint the front boards with chalkboard paint and use chalk to label what each food is. Thoughts, pros and cons of doing this?

The top shelf will be used to store empty jars.

I almost made a before picture to post so you could see the chaos this room was before the shelves, but it was just too embarrassing to show anyone. Most of the food was stored in boxes stacked up and the buckets were …everywhere.

There is still a lot to be done but I just had to share this much now 🙂
