I don’t know who invented the slow cooker, but I know I am thankful for them! It is one of the inventions I use the most in my kitchen. From applesauce, to roasts, to broth/stock, and soups such as this one, it really makes my life much less stressful. I put everything in the pot, turn it on, and walk away to do other things for the day.
Recently, a friend posted a recipe for cubed steak and gravy that was made from French Onion Soup. I didn’t have any soup, but had 25 pounds of onions and homemade broth! I searched her sources, scoured the internet, and came up with this. It’s delicious!
It’s mid-October and the temperature is FINALLY beginning to drop. I love waking up in the mornings, having my first cup of coffee, and enjoying the cool weather.
I also love soups and chowders and autumn is the perfect time of year to start serving them. This is one of our favorites.
I am loving my Instant Pot! Who knew you could prepare such healthy, delicious meals in a very short amount of time?!
This recipe came from a dear friend who loves to cook as much as I do! We’ve cooked together on several occasions now, and it’s always such fun! His recipe was a stovetop recipe. I converted it to the Instant Pot.
We had a couple of dear friends come for a visit today. They brought with them their eight kids. I didn’t have time to plan a fancy dinner, nor did I have time to go to the store. This is when I LOVE having home canned goods in the pantry and fresh meats in the freezer!
